Kids & Clients

Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

This policy explains what personal data Kids & Clients collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Kids & Clients is a trading name of Caister Consultancy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11884259). Our registered office is 1 Cedar Office Park, Cobham Road, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 7SB.

Caister Consultancy Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under number 00013500425.

For anything about your data, email [email protected].

What we collect

When you subscribe: your email address, and the date, time and page where you signed up. If you give us your name or answer a survey, we keep that too.

When you read the emails: our email platform records whether an email was opened, which links were clicked, and basic technical details such as device type, browser, IP address and approximate location worked out from it. This tells us which issues are useful and stops emails going to addresses that no longer work.

When you reply: your email and anything you include in it.

When you visit kidsandclients.com: our website platform collects technical details such as IP address, browser, device, pages visited and the page that sent you here. Cookies are covered below.

The Kids & Clients Number (calculator): the figures you type in stay in your own browser. They aren't sent to us and we can't see them.

The Five-a-Day Sheet: you make your own copy in your own Google account. We can't see your copy or anything you put in it.

We don't collect payment details, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Sponsors and affiliate links

Some issues include a labelled sponsor box or an affiliate link. We never sell or share your email address with sponsors or affiliate partners. If we share anything with a sponsor, it's totals only, such as how many people clicked a link.

If you click an affiliate or sponsor link, the company you visit may use cookies to record that you came from Kids & Clients. Their own privacy policy covers that.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the services that run Kids & Clients for us:

  • beehiiv Inc. (United States) hosts the newsletter and website, sends the emails and records opens and clicks. beehiiv acts as our processor, which means it can only use your data to provide its service to us.
  • Our email provider, which holds any replies you send.
  • Professional advisers such as our accountant or lawyer, where needed.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

International transfers

beehiiv is based in the United States, so your data is processed outside the UK. beehiiv says it protects transfers using regulator-approved Standard Contractual Clauses where appropriate. We rely on those safeguards, together with the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum where it applies.

Cookies

Our website platform uses cookies and similar technology to keep the site working, remember your choices and measure visits. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept, decline or choose which cookies you allow. Cookies that the site needs to work don't need your consent. Everything else does. You can change your choice through your browser settings at any time.

How long we keep it

  • While you're subscribed, we keep your details.
  • If you unsubscribe, we remove you from our mailing list and keep only your email address on a suppression list, so we never email you again by mistake.
  • If you haven't opened an email in a long time, we may remove you from the list.
  • Replies are kept only as long as they're useful, and deleted when they're not.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • see the data we hold about you
  • have it corrected if it's wrong
  • have it deleted
  • object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it
  • take a copy of it to another service

To use any of these, email [email protected]. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.

If you live in the European Union, you also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Keeping it safe

Your data is held on beehiiv's systems and our own password-protected accounts.
